logic pro update banishes the click track

Logic Pro, GarageBand's brother, just got big update to coincide with NAMM music trade show.   o lots of new effects plugins, and couple of relaxed new Drummers is something called Smart Tempo.   Usually, musicians will play to click track, or metronome, order to keep time.   This is more for the benefit of the software than for the musicians.   For instance, then the app will extract data and use that as the master.   For instance, it will match the tempo of the master track.   This feature already exists in simpler form GarageBand on your iPhone — the Drummer can be set to follow the tempo of any other track in song.   The difference with Smart Tempo is that it applies to everything in project, stretching and squashing it to play in time..   But really, this is great for musicians and producers, only now the song can breathe, proceeding at natural, human-led tempo.   Logic Pro update adds several more neat tools, effects and EQ, and the star is Smart Tempo.   Read more
