The design is stark change from iPad Pro of old and, indeed, from the current of iPhone XS. It leaves iPad Pro looking more purposeful and business-like, and the combination of waif-like thickness and light weight mean the harder edges are not uncomfortable in your hand. Apple has used Liquid Retina technology it relied on for iPhone XR, complete with the pixel masking around the corners to OLED-style curves. At the top there's TrueDepth camera we've seen on iPhone XS and iPhone XR. It also supports Portrait mode in the app the camera on the rear does not appear to, unlike iPhone XR... It'll even offer menu of shortcuts, depending on the app, turning Apple Pencil 2 into much more of Wacom stylus alternative. While it's stuck to the side, meanwhile, it charges using Apple used for Apple Watch, rather like Pencil does... Apple's to USB-C continues with the loss of the jack along the way, sadly with iPad Pro now adopting the standard. The fancy new Smart Keyboard Folio which hooks to to relocated connectors now on the rear of the tablet, not the edge is $179 for the 11-inch model, or $199 for the 12.9-inch... Apple's argument is that, for creative professionals, the arrival of apps like Photoshop in 2019 will make this replacement for your notebook and the better choice..
