Worse still, in Pixel Slate, it's married to tablet that combines all the worst parts of Surface Pro and iPad Pro. Pixel Slate is Google's to Surface Pro and iPad Pro hybrid computing device that blurs the lines between tablet, computer and mobile phone. There's scanner built into the button, support for Pixelbook Pen and the sheet is full of impressive sounding things like Molecular Display and stereo speakers. Magnets let you adjust the laptop and tablet modes and this works well, and switching modes is faff of confusing folding and flipping that frequently results in the tablet falling out. The keyboard and tablet weigh 1.2kg combined, sizeable 118g more than Surface Pro with its keyboard only marginally less than MacBook Air. Unlike iPad Pro, it's easy to plug into 4K monitor at your desk and use Pixel Slate like you would laptop. More or less anything plugged into USB-C ports works as expected complaint against iPad Pro and Chrome OS has basics such as explorer that make using it as computer more bearable. On Intel Core i5 version tested, Pixel Slate handles 10 to Chrome tabs with little difficulty. The note-taking, and is not immune to Pixel Slate's spotty performance. Chrome OS fans are better served by Pixelbook and everyone else will find Surface Pro or iPad Pro more convincing depending on their needs..
