Advancements SoC, availability of powerful cameras, and competition has resulted in many OEMs offering features in this price range that were once considered flagship territory.  Asus tasted success in the segment last year with the introduction of ZenFone Max Pro.   Asus seems to have heeded to feedback announced the successor, Max Pro, alongside ZenFone Max.   The Oppo Realme Pro and Xiaomi Redmi Note Pro retail at almost similar prices have enjoyed good in Indian market alongside Kirin 710-powered Honor Lite.   In the box, we find ZenFone Max Pro , W USB, USB to microUSB, TPU case, SIM tool, and the paperwork.   Asus has equipped ZenFone Max Pro with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660  AIE Mobile Platform featuring Adreno 512 GPU.   Max Pro offers all connectivity options including dual- SIM dual-standby, 4G VoLTE, 802.11n wireless, WiFi- Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS.   Sensing market preferences, Asus has preferred opting for AOSP Android 8.1 Oreo OS instead of the heavily customized ZenUI that was seen in ZenFone 5Z and even the ZenFone Lite.   Our Max Pro review unit got OTA update on January 7, updates to the camera, touchscreen, and optimizations for FM radio.   We ran suite of CPU and GPU benchmarks to see how Snapdragon 660 in Max Pro stood up to the competition.   Factoring in Android experience, very good display, above-average cameras, and timely update schedule, ZenFone Max Pro counts among the best mid-range smartphones under ₹15,000 that can replace your flagship-killer without you even realizing it...   Read more
