In fact, I'd call it wholesale ripoff of Apple's MacBook Pro But I do not really have problem with MateBook's because Huawei did basically everything right when it comes to design.. The smooth metal finish is as premium as it gets, the tolerances are tight, there's no flex in the chassis or display, and the hinge works exactly like it should I can lift it open with just one finger and the laptop stays put. MateBook is under 15mm thick which makes it just as portable as Microsoft's Surface Laptop, Dell's XPS 13, and Apple's MacBook Pro. The net effect is great and immersive viewing experience, and it means the footprint of MateBook is the same only with larger display.. MateBook's screen is stunner, too it's high-resolution, vibrant, and bright touchscreen with 3 2 ratio that makes productivity tasks such as working with documents or browsing the web much easier than on widescreen displays. Likewise, the trackpad is not and it's still big enough and is perhaps the best trackpad I've used on any Windows computer, including Microsoft's own Surface Book line.. there's no room to stick standard webcam there, so Huawei came up with solution to hide the camera in pop-up key in the middle of the keyboard. Huawei is selling two versions in the US, one with Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, and model that bumps up to Core i7 chip, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. Huawei is selling MateBook X Pro with Microsoft's Signature Edition of Windows 10, which means that it only comes with Microsoft includes and utility to managing driver updates from Huawei. But the biggest surprise of all might be MateBook X Pro's price, 199.99 for the model and caps out at $1,499.99 for the fully loaded version.
