We already compared iPhone X's camera to that of S9+, and let's if Note 9 can improve on Samsung's showing... One thing you do not get Samsung's Pro mode is HDR, so we reran the previous test with Auto mode and noticed that Note HDR effect made the image look bit fake compared to the same photo on iPhone X. Unlike Apple's Portrait Mode, Note 9 allows you to adjust the amount of blur in the background, and the feature can look bit fake at maximum settings.. iPhone X's photo had bit too much contrast and we noticed that Samsung has quite bit of wider lens for selfies. By default, Samsung adds some skin blurring and smoothing in the form of the beauty face mode, and you can go into the settings and turn that off, so we did that and retook the test. We can notice that Note out the sky, where iPhone X kept lot of the in the photo. the colors on iPhone X were off, because the in the photo is grey, not blue. Note overexposed bit, and its image was the winner, as iPhone X's shot just looks dark and loses detail... In, Samsung was better except few situations like the waterfall detail shots, where Note 9 was bit too cool.. Overall, out of the main scenarios we looked at, Note 9 came out on top, beating iPhone X 9 of them.
